Corporate Social Responsibility

Over the past decade, ORIX USA Group has donated over $20 million to a wide range of national and local community-focused nonprofit organizations.

At ORIX USA Group, our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities are focused on building and improving the social, economic, and environmental infrastructure of the communities where we live and do business. We are committed to providing support and partnership, taking action through volunteerism, and using our financial services expertise to have a positive, sustainable impact that benefits society, our clients and employees.

In 2020, we established the ORIX USA Group CSR Advisory Committee to ensure continued momentum and strategic focus around our corporate philanthropy efforts, which were previously managed by the ORIX Foundation. Comprised of representatives from ORIX USA, and its subsidiaries, Boston Financial, Lument, and NXT Capital, the Committee meets regularly to consider and select nonprofit grant recipients for holiday and annual giving programs, as well as volunteer and other engagement opportunities.

ORIX USA Group’s CSR activities have four areas of focus that align with our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) and Sustainability/ESG strategies, in addition to supporting our local communities.

In 2024, volunteer teams from ORIX USA and our subsidiaries Boston Financial, Lument, and NXT Capital, participated in volunteer events across various nonprofits. These efforts coincide with our Corporate Social Responsibility annual corporate and holiday giving, and are part of our ongoing commitment to give back to the communities where we live and do business.

In November, ORIX USA employees volunteered with North Texas Food Bank to help package meals for North Texans facing hunger. The North Texas Food Bank distributes food to more than 400 food pantries and community organizations across 13 North Texas counties.

Our Kansas City Lument team participated in a Build Day in September with Habitat for Humanity to work on a home nearing completion in downtown Kansas City, MO. Volunteers performed numerous indoor and outdoor tasks including caulking and setting windows, helping to build compartments for appliances, attaching handrails to the front steps, and painting the foundation of the home. This marked the second Habitat Build Day for the Kansas City team following a successful volunteer event in 2023 and continues our long-standing partnership with the organization.

In June, Boston Financial’s accounting and finance teams volunteered with Heading Home, an organization whose mission is to end homelessness in the Greater Boston area by providing a supported pathway to self-sufficiency that begins with a home, together with critical services such as life skills, financial literacy, and job training. During this volunteer event, the team landscaped, planted flowers, and deep-cleaned common spaces at a local shelter, which is home for about twelve women in the Greater Boston community.

NXT Capital volunteered with the Greater Chicago Food Depository for a repack day to sort, inspect, and repack goods to be distributed to food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters in the Greater Chicago area. The Greater Chicago Food Depository works to bring food, dignity, and hope to the Chicago community by helping those most in need.
